Prerequisite: Art Exploration or permission from Art Faculty

Ceramics is a comprehensive course designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the use of clay as an art medium. Many different techniques of clay modeling and decoration will be introduced through a series of challenging projects. In Ceramics II, after students become familiar with the possibilities and properties of clay, they will use their knowledge to arrive at individual and creative solutions to various prompts. Class critiques, as well as the study of past and contemporary ceramics artists and trends are important elements of this course.
