The purpose of this course is to explore the modern U.S. presidency and consider how its many dimensions affect us as individuals and as members of the global community. International, national, state, and local documents will be examined and discussed with the intent of interpreting the significance of the President of the United States on historical events. Students will also examine the role of the presidency within historical and future perspectives. Resources include historical primary sources, newspapers, magazines, the internet, movies, and national television.
