state championships this week.

Krauss, of West Rupert, tied with two other boarders for 18th out of 70 in halfpipe, which uses a smooth-surfaced snow trough for stunts.

He came in 12th out of 70 in slopestyle, a competitive freestyle event judged on the performance of tricks while riding over jumps. Krauss competed for Long Trail on the slopes last year as well. During this 2009-2010 season, Krauss had two second place finishes, one in boardercross and one in halfpipe. He had a 9th and a 20th place finishes in slopestyle during the year as well.
