LT Studies International enables students from around the world to experience all that beautiful rural Vermont has to offer. This program serves as a two-way sharing of cultures for both international and local students, enriching the academic experience for both.
Students come to Long Trail from around the world, including Austria, Brazil, China, Costa Rica, the Czech Republic, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Russia, South Korea, Spain, and Sweden. All international students are given the opportunity to take English Immersion classes and live with homestay families associated with the school community.
Long Trail School is committed to enrolling a diverse student population, valuing cultural, academic, physical, economic, and ethnic diversity. This gives students the opportunity to be inspired by and learn from one another, fostering inquisitive minds and compassionate hearts.
LTStudies International welcomes students worldwide who are motivated to learn English, to experience American culture, particularly life in the rural countryside, and to prepare for college in the United States. Students have the opportunity to engage actively with the community, participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities, take academic classes structured around the English as a Second Language Program, and build confidence with speaking English in their educational and social lives.
English as a Second/Other Language
Long Trail is happy to offer the tools necessary for international students to develop their skills in English. We offer multiple courses that blend learning American perspectives with English usage, including speaking, reading, writing, and listening, with the ultimate goal of assimilating students into the mainstream English classes. For details on specific classes see Other Links.
