After graduation from Vanderbilt University with a degree in human evolution, I spent years traveling four continents, writing, furthering my study of the evolution of life and of human cultures, and teaching conservation education in a variety of venues, from zoos to tiny riverside hamlets deep in the Amazon. A lifelong lover of plants, animals, and veggie gardening, I’m also a Master Gardener and am currently pursuing a graduate degree in natural science through Clemson University.
Books are currently a huge part of my life, and in addition to our day jobs, my husband and I manage an independent book distribution network called DartFrog Books, as well as a private publishing label and a national children’s book award. In recent years I’ve been a ghost writer and children’s book reviewer, and in my spare time I create artwork for a line of merchandise that raises funds for animal rescue groups.
This year marks my third at LTS. When not in the school library, I love to hike, dance, practice yoga, travel to National Parks, and go looking for fossils!
