Prerequisite: Art Exploration or permission from Arts faculty

This course introduces students to the art of photography by studying composition, intent, light, and mood in their own and others’ photographs. Students develop skills in the use of software such as Photoshop and other editing programs. They will study the work of photographers from the past and present to gain an understanding of what has been done and what the possibilities are. An emphasis will be placed on the significance and importance of photography as a documentary of life from a variety of cultures and time periods. Photography students will be an integral part of the building of the Yearbook and will serve as the school’s photographers.
