The Long Trail Girls varsity soccer team drove to Danville for the fourth year straight for the state playdowns. Going into the game, 11th seed Long Trail Mountain Lions had a 5-9 record; 6th seed Danville Pride’s record was 7-7. The first half started out strong. #8 Molly Sanderson led with a goal, assisted by #3 Kathryn Dugan. Danville then tied the game, so at half time, the score was 1-1. Early in the second half, Dugan scored, assisted by #19 Adriana Grabach. The game ended with the Pride upset by the Mountain Lions for the fourth year straight. The girls’ next game will be on Friday, October 25. The opponent and location are determined by October 23’s 3:00 pm game between #3 seed Rivendell and #14 seed Craftsbury.
