I was born and raised near Saratoga, NY. Education was always considered important at home; my sister and I even ‘played school’ in the basement in the summer months. This was pivotal to my first career choice – teaching. With over 10 years in public and private schools, I have taught Latin, Spanish, English, and Religion in addition to chaperoning school trips, working on the yearbook and school plays. During one such teaching position, I worked part time for a financial consultant who declared my affinity for numbers was being underutilized in the classroom. An MBA later, I have worked for another 10 or so years in the corporate setting. LTS has offered me the best of both worlds: being in an educational environment and working in the business office.
When not in school, I can be found at Scottish Highland Games anywhere in New England, Ontario, and, occasionally, Scotland. My passion for things Scottish took off when I became a Scottish Highland Dancer as a child, competing and teaching for many years. While I am still able to teach dance, my interest has taken me in the direction of being a pipe band Drum Major. My major achievement early on was to be the first female and the first American to win the Ontario Champion Supreme title in Drum Majoring. Competing, teaching, and judging take up most of my spare time.
