Current and in-coming families must complete the enrollment and financial aid (if applicable) process each year for their child (ren) to attend Long Trail. Current families should not complete a new admissions application each year. If your child is not currently enrolled at Long Trail, they must first apply through the Admissions Office.
Enrollment Process
Enrollment Contracts which include tuition, bussing and financial aid awards are issued mid-March once state tuition amounts are released and financial aid applications are complete. Emails are sent to all returning families and any accepted in-coming families at this time. Enrollment Contracts will be processed as needed after April 1 for accepted in-coming families.
Families who reside in Bondville, Danby, Dorset, Londonderry, Manchester, Pawlet, Rupert, Sandgate, South Londonderry, Sunderland, West Pawlet, West Rupert and Winhall must complete additional Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union (BRSU) paperwork in order to receive town tuition.
Enrollment Policy
In compliance with Vermont SBE Rule 2229.1(a), we explicitly state that:
-
The student or the parent of a student seeking to attend Long Trail School shall voluntarily submit an application;
-
Students will not be disadvantaged in the admissions process based on their membership in a protected class, their actual or suspected disability, or their socioeconomic status;
-
When the number of applicants exceeds capacity, applicants are placed in a “wait pool” to be offered admission if a place becomes available;
-
Students will be accepted for enrollment in a non-discriminatory manner and consistent with the school’s written enrollment policy. No student shall be denied acceptance for enrollment on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity or any other classification protected by federal or State law.
