LTSummer 2019 dates: June 24-July 19
LTSummer extends Long Trail School’s commitment to academic curiosity. Summer classes enable children to develop skills, gain confidence in their abilities, and work and play cooperatively with others.
LTSummer offers a range of day camps for children ages 3-14 broken into appropriate age groups. Each program is led by experienced professionals of Long Trail faculty and local experts, assisted by junior counselors who attend LTS. Low student:counselor ratios supply personal attention, making time at camp that much more meaningful for our students.
For 37 years LTSummer has melded academic curiosity and summer fun! This summer, the Fieldhouse at Long Trail School will open. This new facility will provide a great venue for new activities in addition to our 16 beautiful acres in Vermont, a natural outdoor classroom.
Long Trail School teacher and Athletic Director Luke Krueger will direct LTSummer. Luke has run summer camps in New York City, New Jersey, Florida, Virginia and Vermont for over 10 years. Working closely with former Director Chelley Tifft, Luke has melded the success of past LTSummer programs with new, exciting enhancements.
Long Trail School’s summer program began as tutorials with former LTS Math teacher Barb West in the summer of 1983. In 1994, unable to find an engaging and educational summer program for her 3 year old daughter Julia, current Director of Development (then German teacher) Courtney Callo evolved LTSummer into what it is today.
