Our Middle School curriculum at Long Trail School is designed to cultivate a culture of learning while engaging and challenging our students. As a student- and child-centered institution, we value the attributes each child brings to Long Trail School and help each student forge a pathway to academic success and personal enrichment.
We recognize how important grades sixth through eight are in a student’s personal and academic journey. We know that students are developing a curiosity for the world around them and wondering who they are and what they stand for. The Middle School academic program fosters a growth mindset among students while also embracing both the joys and challenges of early adolescence.
Students build self-advocacy skills throughout their Middle School academic journey as faculty encourage students to take accountability and build healthy work habits. Teachers work alongside students and provide mentorship, guiding them to take ownership of their own learning. Our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are ready for greater academic challenges, gaining a strong intellectual foundation for the Upper School and beyond. Equally important, they develop a resilient curiosity that serves them well for a lifetime.
