This month, 37 students and 7 adults headed out west for our Southwest Parks Expedition! They explored breathtaking national parks, hiked scenic trails, ventured through canyons, and dedicated a day to service.

Today marked our last day at Long Trail School. We said goodbye to our amazing students and celebrated the retirement of one of our most cherished teachers.

This afternoon, we celebrated the academic achieve

This afternoon, we celebrated the academic achievements of our Upper School students. Head of School Colin Igoe opened the Awards Ceremony by addressing students, faculty, families, and guests, reflecting on the year and sharing a quote from John Wooden: “Success comes from knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.”

It was a wonderful year of growth and accomplishment—we look forward to next year!

This spring, 14 LTS students traveled to Germany f

This spring, 14 LTS students traveled to Germany for 10 days to visit our friends in Künzelsau at Freie Schule Anne-Sophie, as part of the exchange program that brought their students to us last fall.

During the trip, students explored Munich, stayed with host families, visited nearby towns, and experienced school life at Freie Schule Anne-Sophie.

We’re so grateful to continue this meaningful connection and can’t wait to welcome everyone back next fall!

The Class of 2025 always found the sun on a cloudy day—and Thursday was no exception. Despite the rain, Long Trail School’s 49th Commencement celebrated a truly remarkable group of students, marking a milestone for our largest graduating class yet.

Sometimes it’s the family you’re born into, and sometimes it’s the one you build. We are proud to welcome this class and to keep building the Long Trail family.

Last Friday was a big day on campus! We welcomed over 100 grandparents and guests for Grandparents Day and capped it off with the one-night-only performance of the Middle School play, Pluto, the Wayward Planetoid.

Our guests experienced a day in the life of a Long Trail student, complete with a special musical performance, original poetry readings, and a sneak peek of the theater production. The campus was buzzing with energy and joy!

Our art students have been busy creating exceptional work! Please join us in congratulating Wyatt D., Heidi M., and Laurel S., who are representing Long Trail School in the Congressional Art Competition. Their stunning artwork is featured below.

On May 9, they’ll join 104 other talented students to find out whose piece will be selected to represent Vermont in Washington, D.C. The winning artist will have their work displayed at the U.S. Capitol and be invited to an award ceremony in our nation’s capital.
